Ibar cigarettes, named after the river flowing through Kosovo and western Macedonia, were among the less prestigious but well-sold brands in the Macedonian and wider Yugoslav market. Affordable and simple, they were intended for mass consumption. Among smokers, they had the image of “an unnoticed working cigarette,” which contributed to their unique charm.
