The Petrol service station on Tivolska Road is one of the most recognizable examples of Slovenian modernist architecture. Designed in 1968 by architect Milan Mihelič as part of the urban development of Ljubljana’s northern entrance, it quickly became a distinctive city landmark. With its characteristic roof structure and carefully considered architectural design, the building transcended its original function and established itself as a recognizable element of Ljubljana’s urban landscape. Today, it is regarded as an important part of Slovenia’s architectural heritage and a reminder of a time when even everyday infrastructure was created with exceptional design ambition.
